I've been moving these around the yard all summer and the spikes push into soft dirt without any tools, then pull right out when I want to water a different section. The threaded base fit my 1/2-in. sprinkler heads snugly, no leaks so far.
These spikes screwed right onto my old 1/2-in. sprinkler heads with no leaking at the threads. I pushed them into soft soil along the fence line and moved them twice without any trouble. Finally turned a box of spare heads into a real watering setup.
Wasn't sure how these would hold up in my clay-heavy soil, but the spike pushed in fine and the 1/2-in. MPT threading fit my spare sprinkler heads without any leaking. Moving them around the yard to chase dry patches takes two seconds.
