My old 5/8 inch hose had a split right at the male end, and this mender slid on without any fuss. The oversized grip made it easy to twist on tight even with wet hands. No leaks after a full afternoon of watering.
The soft-texture grip on this mender is way easier on my hands than the bare plastic fittings I've used before, especially when the hose is wet. It slid onto my 3/4 inch hose end and clamped down tight in just a couple minutes.
