The threaded male end screwed right into my existing riser with no adapters needed, which saved me a trip to the hardware store. The zinc spike drove into hard clay without bending, and it holds the sprinkler head steady even when the water's full blast.
The threaded male connection screwed right onto my old riser with no leaks, which was my main worry. Zinc feels solid, not like the flimsy plastic base it replaced. Sprinkler head sits steady now even on a slope.
