The square pattern actually waters my whole veggie bed without soaking the fence, which my last sprinkler never managed. It throws about 30 feet easy, so one hookup covers the back corner of the yard. The plastic feels a bit light but the turret clicks solidly between the 8 settings.
Swapped out my old oscillating sprinkler for this one and the square pattern is what sold me — it actually reaches the corners of my garden bed instead of leaving them dry. Full circle mode covers my whole front yard in one pass, which saves me moving it around so much.
My lawn's patchy spots are finally gone since I can hit that narrow strip along the driveway with the end-strip setting. The full circle covers a solid chunk of yard too, and the plastic base feels sturdy enough for regular use.
