My 5/8 hose was leaking right at the female end and this mender fixed it in about ten minutes. The stainless steel clamp actually bites down hard enough that I can't get it to leak even at full pressure. Solid brass too, so I expect it to outlast the hose itself.

The brass shank threaded right onto my 5/8 hose and the stainless steel clamp sealed it tight, no drips after a full week of watering. Way sturdier than the plastic mender I tried last summer.

Fixed the female end of my 5/8 hose in about ten minutes with just a screwdriver. The stainless clamp cinched down tight and it hasn't dripped once all summer. Way cheaper than buying a whole new hose.
