The stainless steel clamps on this mender actually bite down hard enough that I stopped worrying about it popping off mid-watering. Took about five minutes to install with a flathead screwdriver, and the repaired section hasn't dripped once all summer.

Fixed the leak in the middle of my garden hose instead of buying a whole new one, and the stainless steel clamp is holding tight after a month of daily watering. The brass shank seated easily into both cut ends and hasn't dripped since.

Fixed a split in the middle of my 5/8 hose instead of buying a whole new one, and the brass shank slid in snug with no trimming needed. Only gripe is the stainless clamp took some cranking before it stopped weeping, but it's been dry for a month now.
