My hose end split right at the fitting and I figured I'd be buying a whole new hose. This brass mender threaded in fine and the stainless steel clamp sealed it up tight, no drips after a couple weeks of watering. Cheaper than replacing 50 feet of hose.

The stainless steel clamp actually bites down hard enough that I stopped getting that slow drip at the spigot connection. Installed it in five minutes with just a screwdriver. Two months of weekly watering and it hasn't budged.
